Benchmark Scores and Chipset Insights

The Zenfone 12 Ultra, identified on Geekbench as “ASUSAI2501H,” achieved remarkable benchmark results:

  • Single-core score: 3,036
  • Multi-core score: 9,656

These scores confirm the use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, cementing its place as a flagship device.

Hardware and Specifications

The prototype tested was equipped with 16GB of RAM, although Asus is expected to offer multiple configurations. For reference, the base model of the Zenfone 11 Ultra last year included 12GB of RAM, suggesting at least similar options for the Zenfone 12 Ultra.

Key details include the phone running Android 15, as expected for a 2025 flagship. Another potential highlight is the rumored 5,800mAh battery, offering a 300mAh boost over its predecessor.

A Familiar Design Philosophy

Last year’s Zenfone 11 Ultra was essentially a rebranded ROG Phone 8 Pro, stripped of gaming-centric features like LEDs. The Zenfone 12 Ultra may follow a similar path, borrowing elements from the ROG Phone 9 Pro while maintaining a more minimalist approach tailored to non-gaming users.

This strategy could deliver a highly capable phone without unnecessary gaming bells and whistles, making it ideal for everyday flagship users.

Competitive Pricing and Configurations

Although pricing for the Zenfone 12 Ultra is yet to be announced, here’s a comparison of previous models to provide an idea:

ModelConfigurationPrice (USD)Price (EUR)
Zenfone 11 Ultra (2024)256GB + 12GB RAM$749.95€638.90
Zenfone 11 Ultra (2024)512GB + 16GB RAM$1,149.00€1,007.99
ROG Phone 9 Pro (2025)512GB + 16GB RAM$1,480.00€1,298.91
ROG Phone 9 Pro (2025)1TB + 24GB RAM$1,499.99N/A

The Zenfone 12 Ultra is expected to fall between these price points, offering flagship-grade performance at competitive pricing.

Countdown to Launch

With its February 6, 2025 unveiling fast approaching, the Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra is shaping up to be a promising addition to the smartphone market. Stay tuned for the official announcement, where more details, including pricing and availability, will be revealed.
